Stephen C. Hall age, 85 of Munster entered into Heaven's gates on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ilene J. (nee, Johnson) Hall;
2 sisters-in-law: Deloris J. (Norman) Blievernicht of Crete, IL and Josephine Johnson of Helendale, CA
Nieces: Carole (John) Lawton of Pacific Grove, CA; Janet Krueger Bozovic of Hammond;
Lynette Sue Blievernicht of Milwaukee, WI, Beth (Peter) Blievernicht Schmugge of Marana, AZ
Nephews: Robert (Jeanne) Johnson of British Columbia; Barry Norman (Kim) Blievernicht of Mound, MN and Matthew John (Tina) Blievernicht of Lowell, IN; grand nephews: Stephen M. Bozovic, Justin, Travis and Luke Blievernicht
grand nieces: Mikayla Blievernicht and Paige Schmugge
Preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Mary Hall; one sister, Leona Krueger and brother-in-law, Howard L. Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. directly at First Baptist Church Main Auditorium, 473 Sibley, Hammond with Dr. Jack Schaap, Dr. Johnny Colsten and Dr. Roy Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 2 until 8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).
There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Steve was a lifetime resident of the Hammond-Munster area and was a 1941 graduate of Hammond Tech High School. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Hammond where he served on the deacon board, served as an usher and drove a Sunday school bus route for many years. Steve was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and was awarded a purple heart while fighting in the Northern France Campaign. After working for 41 years in the oil industry Steve retired in 1990 from BP Refinery in Whiting.
Steve's heart was always in the "Bus Ministry" therefore, the family is requesting that memorials in Steve's memory be made to the Bus Ministry of First Baptist Church, 507 State Street, Hammond, IN 46320.
