Steven R. Brooks

April 10, 1968 – August 28, 2024

Steven Brooks, age 56, of Lake Station, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Belinda Brooks; three children: Brandon (Mary) Brooks, Bradley Brooks and Makayla Brooks; one grandchild, Clover Brooks; he was raised by Luster and Cleda McKiddy his Pops and Mom; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his biological parents Coolidge and Myrtle Brooks; and his Pops Luster McKiddy.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Friday, September 6th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Zion Holiness Church, 5051 Central Avenue, Portage,m IN 46368. Funeral service officiated by Pastor Richard Westmoreland will follow on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the church with viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart will follow.

Steven was raised in Black Oak but spent the last 28 years living in Lake Station. He was a faithful member of Zion Holiness Church for the past 5 years where he loved to play the drums. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Reds but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Steven was known to often work 2 jobs to better support others. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and huge generous heart.
