Stuart Douglas McLean, Jr., age 69 of Portage formerly of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, May 2, 2010.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Karen Lynn (nee, Rosenbaum) McLean
2 Sons: Stuart Douglas (Lisa) McLean, III of Valparaiso
Donald Bruce (Tracey) McLean of Griffith
1 Daughter: Elisabeth (Ryan McCabe) McLean of Hammond
8 Grandchildren: Kevin Andrew and Emily Faye McLean, Maxwell Donovan McLean, Taylor Price, Angel Starr, Anthony, Destany, Autumn and Matthew McCabe
2 Sisters: Barbara Strode of Munster and Maggie Ruthenberg of Valparaiso

Preceded in death by his parents; Stuart Douglas and Miriam Elizabeth (nee, Gulick) McLean, Sr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Bro. Roy Moffitt, officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, May 5th at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.
Stu was a lifetime resident of Hammond until moving to Portage in 2007. He has been a member of First Baptist Church in Hammond for over 30 years and formerly worked in the Primary 2 Sunday School Dept. Stu retired in 1990 from Ford Motor Co. in Hegewisch after 27 years of service. He worked as an inspector in the quality control dept. Stu was an avid reader and he loved mysteries and anything that had to do with the civil war. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in favor of First Baptist Church Faith Missions.
