Susan Marie Martinez, age 56, of Hammond passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, October 10, 2011.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Pedro J. Martinez;
Daughter, Jennifer M. Martinez;
2 brothers and 2 sisters; many nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law; her faithful companion, "Tequila Rose".
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rita Falls; sister, Laura Kramer; parents-in-law, Augustin and Manuela Martinez; step-father, Jesse Briones, Sr.;
Step-son, Danny Martinez and nephew, D'Angelo Feliciano.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), with Pastor Orlando Solar officiating. Followed by private cremation.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, October 12th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be preferred.
Susie was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and writing poetry.
Susie loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her brindle boxer, "Tequila Rose".
