Susan L. Harrington, age 66, of Highland, formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Vibra Hospital in Crown Point.
She is survived by her sister, Mary J. (Jack) Nelson and brother, Frank R. Stur;
brother-in-law, Charles Mills;
one niece, Kimberly Mills, one great niece, Moriah J. Reel
and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Robert L. Harrington; parents, Frank and Alice Stur and one sister, Debbie Mills.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013                          at 12:00 p.m., noon from Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Bob Neuman officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Bocken Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m. Noon.
Sue was born and raised in Hammond and was a 1965 graduate of Hammond Tech High School.  She was employed at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago for over 30 years as a bookkeeper in the Accounts Payable Dept. Sue enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. She loved cats, dogs and birds and over the years had several pets. She was a devoted and loyal sister and friend who will be dearly missed. Memorials to the Humane Society of the Calumet in Munster in lieu of flowers.
