Suzanne Joelle Davidson, age 48, of Valparaiso, IN formerly of Hammond, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 29, 2015.
She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Wesley F. Davidson, mother, Sandra J. McQuigg and father John McQuigg. One uncle, Wayne (Kathy) Pelhank and one aunt, Sherry (Robert) Kline, several cousins and a host friends. Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Maisie Pelhank.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10:00 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Suzanne was born on November 18, 1966 in Colorado. She was raised in Hessville and was a graduate of Morton High School class of 1985, she went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army serving in the 16T10 Patriot Missile Squadron during Operation Dessert Storm. Suzanne returned home to attend Mennonite College of Nursing earning her degree 1995 and then attended Indiana Wesleyan College where she earned her Masters in business administration in 2010. Suzanne currently served as the Director of Nursing for Franciscan Alliance Hospitals, and was a professor of Nursing at Valparaiso University. Suzanne is a member of the American Legion Allied Post 369 in East Chicago, and the VFW Hayes Post 988 in Valparaiso. She loved life and was a beautiful person who loved her cats and dogs and enjoyed reading, tanning, gardening and was a great cook. Suzanne was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears and Gary South Shore Rail Cats. She was a devoted wife and daughter who will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Memorials to the Humane Society Calumet Area would be appreciated www.hscalumet.org.
