Sylvia June Cooper, age 73 of Highland passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

She is survived by 2 Sons: Timothy (companion, Robin Moore ) Cooper of Lafayette, IN

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Wade Austin Cooper, parents; Bennie and Lena Maxine Ownby, 3 sisters; Louise Hastings, Maxine Ownby and Billie Jean Petty, 2 brothers; Tommy and Bennie Ray Ownby

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 4pm until 8 pm at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville). Funeral Services will be held on Friday evening at 7pm .with Rev. Scott Hobbs officiating.

Mrs. Cooper will then be taken to Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie, TN (731)352-2222, where friends may call on Monday, December 6 ^th from 4 until 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7 ^th at 11 a.m. with burial at Liberty Cemetery in McKenzie , TN.

June was born and raised in McKenzie, TN and has lived in Northwest Indiana for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, and taking care of the neighborhood deer. She attended the First Baptist Church of Griffith and was a member of the "Red Hat Society". June worked for Sears in the Credit and Collection Dept. and was a real estate agent and worked for McColly Realtors.
