Thelma Huskisson, age 95, of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 after praising her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday.

She united in marriage to Tompie G. Huskisson in 1945 and to this union five children were born, surviving are three sons: George (Janet) Huskisson, Charles Huskisson and James (Phyllis) Huskisson; one daughter: Frieda Overbey; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Tompie G. Huskisson in 1986, parents, John and Crocia Kessinger; daughter Ruddle Huskisson; daughter in-law: Vickie Huskisson; three brothers and three sisters.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Zion Holiness Church from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m., DIRECTLY at Zion Holiness Church, 707-169th St., Hammond with Rev. Bill Westmoreland officiating.Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville.

Thelma was born in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1922. She has been a resident of Hammond since 1976.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard and was an excellent cook. Thelma was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her church, a founding member of Zion Holiness Church; she often sang in the choir and loved being active in the church. Thelma was retired from Butler Specialty Furniture as a supervisor. Many families will remember her as a nanny to numerous children in the Calumet Region for many years. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
