Thomas Fred Aguilar, age 80, of Chicago, formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Known as "Freddy" to many friends and as "Papa Pippen" to family, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love.

Thomas is survived by his wife Joanne Aguilar devoted siblings: Linda (late Cisco), Judy (late Mark). He joins his beloved parents, Leon and Alice Aguilar; his brothers, Leon, Arthur and Robert Aguilar; and grandson, Kyle Rogers, in eternal rest.

Born and raised in Chicago, Thomas graduated from high school and went on to a career as a truck driver for over 50+years to support his growing family. He is survived by his daughter Teresa (Terry) Rogers, Sons Anthony (Rebecca) Aguilar, Louis (Esperanza) Aguilar and Thomas Jr (Blanca) Aguilar. His life was enriched and full of enduring love for his 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and pets Lu Lu, Francis and Charlotte. Papa Pipen had a deep appreciation for music, particularly Doo Wop, and Motown.

An extremely charitable, gentle and kind soul, Thomas was known for his selflessness and his devotion to his faith. Thomas's family and friends will forever remember him as a loving, gentle, and selfless human being.

To abide by his wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2003 Hassert Blvd. Naperville, IL 60564 (630)922-0081.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to NICWA (National Indian Children Welfare Association) or the ASPCA or your favorite other animal charity.
