THOMAS L. DERROW, JR. HESSVILLE, IN Thomas L. Derrow Jr. age 77, of Hessville, IN passed away September 5th, 2014 at Hospice Franciscan Communities in Crown Point after an unexpected episode due to his dementia. He was born March 22, 1937 in East Chicago, IN to the late Private Thomas L. Derrow Sr., and Alma Laverne Derrow. He was a fun-loving person who loved his family; he had a heart of gold and giving to others was his greatest quality. He was a long standing active member of the East Chicago Good Fellows Club. He is survived by three children: Julie (Tony) Guzek, Colleen Kelley and Thomas L. Derrow III, his three grandchildren: Steven and Katy Guzek and Grace Kelley, his dear cousins, Don (Gail), Marty (Laura), Kevin and Marc Derrow, half-sister Judy Zimmerman, and half brother, Michael Jambik, uncle to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. He is preceded in death by his mother, Laverne Gall, grandparents, Urbon and Minnie, father, Thomas, sister, Sharon Sue (Leslie), Uncle Leroy, Aunt Annamae and cousin, Dan Derrow. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond, IN 46323. An interment will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. to the gravesite at Elmwood Cemetery, 1413 169th St. Hammond, IN 46323, all is welcome. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Franciscan Communities, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, they are incredible people.
