Thomas Kenneth Spayer, age 85 of the Hessville section of Hammond passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
He is survived by; 2 daughters: Linda (Peter) Corich of Highland and Laura (Donald) Feges of Hammond. Grandchildren: Adam and Carrie Feges and Great Granddaughter Chloe Januszewski.
Sister Eileen (late John) Cofal and brother in law Ronald Pedretti and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Dolores Spayer (Nee Pedretti) in 2010. Parents, Thomas and Amanda Spayer.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park,IL. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, November 19th 2012 at Bocken Funeral Home from 4-8p.m.
Tom was a resident of the Calumet Area since 1991 when, he and his wife Dolores moved from the Burnside area of Chicago to be near their family. Tom faithfully served our country during the Korean conflict in the U.S Coast Guard. Tom was retired from Sumner Solid Construction Company as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 786.
He was an avid Chicago Bear's and Cub's fan and a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and a dear friend to many..
