Thomas W. Suchala, age 81, of Hammond, IN entered into the presence of the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Sandy Suchala (Pitts); one son, Thomas W. Suchala Jr.; two daughters: Pam (Rick) Santos and Sherry (Ernie Turpin) Suchala; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Jan) Suchala and his favorite companion, Boo, his beloved cat.

Preceded in death by his parents Wally and Rae Suchala; brothers: Jim and Rusty Suchala; and sister, Kathy Suchala.

Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave., Hammond, IN 46323, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the mass time at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.

Formerly of Highland, Tom was a long-time resident of the region. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as an electrician in the steel mills.  Tom had a passion for body building, motorcycle racing, ballroom dancing, and riding his bicycle. Above all, he cherished spending time at home with his family and feline friends. Tom was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church would be appreciated.
