Tomaray Davis, was called home to be with the Lord at age 85 on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
He is survived by his 5 loving children: Shirley Karen (Robert) McCall, II,
Tomi Jo (Eugene) Schuster,
Donna Lynn (Vern) Swanson,
Patricia Diane (Jeffrey) Labadie,
Steven Ray (Vickie) Davis; two brothers: Bob Davis and Ralph (Frankie) Davis; one half brother, Joe (Rose) Henderson;
numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of many dear friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Martha M. Davis (Nee Henson); son, Roger Alan Davis; grandson, Daniel Ryan McCall; parents, Thomas D. and Viola Davis; one sister, Lois Davis.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. directly at First Christian Church of Hessville, 6733 Alabama Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Dan Nichols, minister officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a time of viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Tom was born on September 10, 1929 in Pocahontas, AR and has lived in Hammond since his wedding in 1950.
He has been a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Hessville since 1952 where he has formerly served as Trustee and a Greeter. Tom drove for Shoreline Bus Company for 17 years before it went out of business then continued as a truck driver for the Teamsters. He enjoyed cheering on the Cubs, playing Dartball, spending time with his family and breakfast with friends at Hessville Restaurant. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
