Troy Asher, age 71, of Hammond went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Awaiting him in heaven is his beloved wife of 50 years Deanna Faye Asher;

Troy is survived by 2 children: Michael (Kimberly) Asher and Tamara (Albert) Trajkovski; 5 Grandchildren: Hayley Frances Asher, Michael Asher II, Kyle, Dakota and Colton Trajkovski; Brothers: Brack (Alice), Ralph (Donna), Arnold (Martha), Wayne (Eva) Asher; two sisters, Glenda (Tinsley) Smith, Denise (Robert) Owens; brother-in-law, Harlan Fisher; sister-in-law, Regina (Roger)Westmoreland; Numerous, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Homan and Rinda Asher; sister,Geraldine Fisher.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 directly at Zion Holiness Church, 707-169th Street, Hammond at 7:00 p.m. Friends may meet with the family for a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by the service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Westmoreland officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Cole Chapel Cemetery in Christian County, Kentucky at a later date.

Troy has been a longtime faithful member of Zion Holiness Church in Hammond.  He retired after 48 years of service at Arcelor-Mittal, formerly LTV. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan and he loved to fish.Troy was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
