Vaughn Gordon Barker, age 87, of Highland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary F. (nee, Martin) Barker;

2 sons, Rickey (Sandra) Barker of Littleton, CO and

William Barker of Highland;

2 daughters, Claudia (James) Barker of Jamestown, TN and Sheila (Lee) Bartolotti of Grimesland, NC;

6 grandchildren, John and Andrea Bartolotti, William "BJ" Doring, Heidi (Ed) Behn, Susan Doring and Tammy Michaels. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Frances Barker and 2 sisters, Ruth (Paul) Gates and Anna (Ervin) Marlin.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10AM at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Hanson officiating. Burial will follow with Committal services at 12:30 p.m. directly at Fair Oaks Cemetery in Fair Oaks, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, January 28 ^th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Vaughn was born on March 21, 1923 in Calumet City, IL and was longtime resident of the Calumet Area. Vaughn was a 1941 graduate of Fair Oaks High School and he retired in 1988 from Montgomery Tank Lines after 32 years of service as a truck mechanic. Vaughn was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
