Vera K. Ramsey age 95 of Dyer formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2010.

She is survived by one daughter; Louise (Earl) Cutsinger of Highland

1 Granddaughter; Laura (Mario) Gomez of Schererville

3 Great Granddaughters: Shannon Cline of Cincinnati , Ohio

Gabrielle and Alexandra Gomez of Schererville

Granddaughter-in-law: June Cline of Cincinnati , OH

Several Nieces and Nephews

Adopted "Mom" to: Thelma Yoder, Fran Danner, Shellene Sowles and Lorraine Treen; and many wonderful caregivers and friends at Dyer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center .

Preceded in death by one grandson; Roger Cline,

Son-in-law; Lee Cline, parents; Richard and Blanche Goode, brother; John Goode and sister; Elizabeth Beazley

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6709 Arizona Avenue , Hammond (Hessville)with Pastor James Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, September 1st from 4 until 8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville).

There will be a time of viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 10 until the time of service at 11a.m.

Vera had been a resident of Hammond since the early 1940's before moving to Dyer in 2005. She had been a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and a member of the Loyal Philathea Class. She retired in 1980 after working for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for Swan Cleaners in Chicago . Vera was a hard worker and it wasn't until after she retired that she learned to crochet, make ceramics and began candy making. Her candies were pieces of art and her last project was in March when she made over 750 pieces of candy for her church.

Vera was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and great grandmother and a dear friend to many.
