Violet F. Drummond age, 89 of Valparaiso, formerly of Hessville left us peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2011.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Judith) Drummond of Valparaiso; 2 daughters, Janice (Alex) Marek of Calumet Township and Brenda Drummond of Valparaiso

9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild

Several nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Vincent Drummond in 1996 and her parents, Albert and Clara Thomas.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, January 17 ^th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Violet was a longtime resident of the Hessville section in Hammond before moving to Valparaiso to be near her family. She was a faithful member of Hessville Baptist Church. She had taught Sunday school for 4 years in the Primary Dept. and had been actively involved in the church activities. Violet enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, crocheting and many crafts. She was dedicated to her family. Violet was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
