Virginia Lee Conger, age 76 of Hammond passed away peacefully on Monday, May 3, 2010 with her loving family at her side.
Virginia leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Thomas Lawrence Conger

1 Daughter: Carol (Edward) Shabaz of Robertsdale
4 Grandchildren: Kelly (Derek) Sheridan, Ryan Conger,
Nicole Shabaz and Sherri Shabaz (fiancée; Zach Ziller)
1 Great Grandson: A.J. Hobson
Sister: Betty (Rich) Cimaroli

Preceded in death by her parents; Charlie and Ruby Marlow, son; Thomas Conger, Jr., grandson; Edward Shabaz, II and 2 brothers; David and Charles Marlow
A Memorial Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 4525 Baring Avenue, East Chicago with Rev. Richard Phelps officiating. Cremation was private. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville.
Virginia was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. Her first priority in life was her family. Nothing pleased her more than spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her second love was her animals, especially her dog, "Smokey". The family is requesting that memorials be made to the Humane Society, 421-45th, Munster, IN 46321.
