Walter V. Drozynski, age 69 of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He is survived by his sister:

Lois ( Lawrence ) Homco of Hessville

1 Nephew: Lawrence Homco

2 Nieces: Daphne (Tom) McCoy and Candace (Kevin) Ryan

3 Great Nieces and Nephews: Lucas Homco,

Connor and Shelby McCoy

Preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Stephanie Drozynski

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville) with Fr. Charles Mosley, officiating. Burial will take place at a later time at St. John Cemetery in Hammond . Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, May 15th at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Wally was born on September 27, 1940 and was a graduate of East Chicago Washington High School . He was a former member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church in East Chicago . Wally was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for several years at Lee Cambridge in Alsip , IL . He enjoyed fishing, going for long drives that would take him to the airport to watch the planes take off and land. He was a dear, sweet brother and a loving uncle. In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Cancer Society in Wally's memory would be appreciated.
