Wanda Diane Moffitt, age 83, of Hammond went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 16, 2013.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years John Edward Moffitt; Children, Linda (Alan) Pue, Peggy (Earl) Chantlos, Paul (Pam) Moffitt and Mark (Jackie) Moffitt; daughter in-law Diana (late Glen); 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister Doris (James) Parker and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one son Glen Moffitt; her parents, Glen and Buryl Davis and brother Robert Davis.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. James Thomson and Dr. Alan Pue officiating. Private burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
Diane was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She attended Hammond High School. Diane enjoyed raising roses in her garden and reading good books, especially her Bible.  She was a Godly and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in favor of the Women's center of Northwest Indiana at www.friendsofthewc.org. of which she was a faithful supporter since it inception in 1988.
