Wendell Reed Gleason
Hammond
Wendell Reed Gleason, age 60, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his residence.
He is survived by his loving partner of 24 years, Elaine Casiano;
3 children: Paul (Holly), Dale (Karen) and Lisa Gleason;
3 grandchildren;
brother, Warren (Beth) Gleason;
half-brother, Dean Stelow;
Numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Opal Gleason and one grandson, Joshua Spencer.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 for a time of visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Private burial will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
Wendell was a lifetime resident of Hammond. He was born on April 2, 1953 in Hammond and was a graduate of Gavit High School, class of 1971. He worked for over 29 years at Community Hospital in Munster as a technician in the boiler room. Wendell was an avid Chicago Cubs and Oakland Raiders fan. He enjoyed fishing and having a cold "bud". Wendell was much loved and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
