Wilene A. Dzurochak

Wilene Dzurochak, age 89, of Highland IN (formerly Hammond IN, and Plainfield WI) passed away on November 27, 2022 after 2 years of significant health challenges. While tiny in stature, she was strong-willed with a big personality and a kind heart. Her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Joseph. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Diane (Highland) and her son Michael (Merrillville), her sister Jean (Fort Wayne, IN), brother Bill (Pewaukee, WI) and several nieces and their children.

Wilene retired from the School City of Hammond in 1996 after 20 years of dedicated service. She was known for her stylish dress and wearing fancy heels more often than not. She loved her work and the people she worked with and befriended over the years.

Organizing and orchestrating operations were her favorite things to do (along with a penchant for cleanliness), and she took great pride in keeping things running smoothly. She loved her morning coffee (black of course!) and toast (strawberry jam a must) and Jeopardy was always a must-see.

It was Wilene's request that there be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, she wished friends to make a donation to the charity of your choice.
