William R. Fowle Sr., age 79, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 26, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 1/2 years, Phyllis M. Fowle (nee Zielinski); children: Barbara (Helen Nester) Fowle, Eric Fowle and William (fiancée Isabella Rodriguez) Fowle; six grandchildren: Alex, Joshua, Alyssa, Brody, Lilah and Olivia; 3 sisters: Marlene McDonald, Betty Rohn, and Lorraine Stewart; several nieces, nephews and friends including good friend Fran Riley.  Preceded in death by his parents: William E. and Elizabeth Fowle;

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Military Honors will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Private cremation will follow.

Bill was born and raised in Hammond. He attended Hammond Tech and graduated in the class of 1964.  Two years later he married the love of his life Phyllis Zielinski. Bill was a Vietnam veteran of the Army. He was retired from Amerail as a machinist. In his free time, he enjoyed wood working and carpentry. Bill was a fan of NASCAR, The Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago White Sox.
