WILLIAM ROBERT OLSON "OLE" HAMMOND, IN
William Robert Olson, age 82, of Hammond entered into the presence of the Lord Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Opal J. Olson (nee Brood); four children: Christine (David) McCabe, Clyde J. (Amy) Biewenga, Clifford Biewenga, and Catherine Cataldi; special nephew, Greg (Katie) McManus; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Carol Zaley and Barbara (Walter) Bogelski; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Barbara Olson; brother, Donald; three sisters: Mary, JoAnn, and Marjorie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6907 Arizona Ave. Hammond, IN with Rev. James A. Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Monday, June 16, 2014 at

Army
veteran having served during the
Korean War
. Ole was a member of
VFW
Post 7881 and the American Legion Post 168. He was retired from the BAC Local 6 as a bricklayer with over 50 years of service. Ole was a faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon for 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. He and Opal have visited every state and over 13 foreign countries. Ole was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
