Yvonne F. Bruce, age 92, of Merrillville, formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
She is survived by 6 children: Diane Mowrer,
Donna (Richard) Batliner,
Brian (Susan) Bruce,
Kevin (fiancé, Lori Roland) Bruce,
Scott Bruce and Anita Witkowski;
Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren;
1 niece: Judy (Tom) Brown.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Marshall M. Bruce; 2 children, Garry and Keith Bruce; parents, Benjamin and Louise Hopkins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Bocken Funeral Home.
Yvonne was born on August 2, 1920 in Hammond and was a 1936 graduate of Hammond High School and had attended Woodmar Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling to Las Vegas and the gambling boats. Yvonne was a thoughtful, kind and generous person who was much loved and will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
