Ann Marva Fossett, age 82, of Gary, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Ann, known by all as “Marva”, was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. She was the daughter of Eddie Clifford Bibbs and Addie Flossie Bibbs (née Polk). She graduated from Froebel High School in Gary, Indiana in 1956. After graduating from high school, she worked as a secretary at the Federal Government Railroad Retirement Division from 1957 to 1967. She married Calvin Fossett in February, 1966. She was a homemaker in Gary from 1967 to 1980 and then moved with her three children to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980. She actively served as a Room Mother for her children at St. Andrew’s School and a Volunteer Worker at the St. Andrew’s Cathedral Bingos in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1980 to 1983. She worked as a Cafeteria Manager at City High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1981 to 1983. She and her family moved back to Gary, Indiana in 1983, and she decided to stay at home again as a homemaker from 1983 through to 2004. She worked at Jewel Grocery Store from 2004 to 2013 until she retired.
She always loved going to the movies and concerts, playing ping pong, and listening to music. Her favorite song was “Georgia On My Mind” by Ray Charles. She always was fond of Hollywood, celebrities, basketball, and tennis.
She is survived by her three children, Calvin Fossett Jr., Taras Fossett, and Arana Fossett and many cousins and friends.
