Carol Jo Medwetz age 84 passed away at her home on Sunday September 24, 2023 while surrounded by her family. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert “Bob” W. Medwetz; daughter: Lynn Clark; one son, Joseph  (Laura) Medwetz; 7 grandchildren: Adam (Stephanie) Clark, Vanessa Clark, Amber (Brayden) Bridgeman, Jimmy Medwetz, Robert (Margaret) Medwetz, Jolyn Hedrick and Jonathan Hedrick; many great grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her son, James Bryan Medwetz, daughter, Dana Hedrick and parents, James H. and Evelyn Miller; two sisters: Michelle Miller and Lisa Keller.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, IN 46323 with Pastor Joe Best officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Bocken Funeral Home on Wednesday September 27, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12 noon.
Carol was a lifelong resident of the region. She was a 1956 graduate of Morton High School. Carol loved to fish and vacation with Bob in Birchwood Wisconsin, each summer after his retirement. Carol had a personality that would make people love to be around her.
