Dorothy M. Bardoczi, age 93, of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 17, 2022. Dorothy was the youngest of five children born to Margaret (nee Kasper) and Otto Hausman. She was born in East Chicago and lived most of her life in the home her late husband built in Hessville. She graduated from Washington High School and married Joseph J Bardoczi soon after. She was a proud housewife and mother to her two children: Joe (Penny) Bardoczi and Sherri (Rick) Martin; four granddaughters, Amy Mick, Jillian (Ryan) Ward, Aby Bardoczi and Ali (Jacob)Von Tobel as well as three great grandchildren: Lilly, Ana, and Blaze.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph J. Bardoczi; parents, Otto and Margaret Hausman; siblings: Marge (Iggy) Tarr, Elaine (Paul) Stupeck, Vergie (Ted) Michalak and Otto “Buddy” (Jean) Hausman. Throughout her life she was involved in the Knights of Columbus, Independent Order of Forrester's, made noodles in support of her church and bowled with her husband. She was a talented cook and showered friends and family with her baked goods. Her love for her family was most important.
Friends are invited to visit her family at BOCKEN FUNERAL HOME 7042 Kennedy Ave, Hammond on Wednesday December 21, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond with Father Charles Mosley celebrant. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Carmelite Home at 4840 Grasselli St, East Chicago.
