Francisco Gonzalez age 83, of Hammond formerly of Gary and San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico entered into eternal life on Christmas, Saturday, December 25, 2021.

He is survived by his three children: Maria (Bardo) Franco, Francisco (Anissa) Gonzalez Jr. and Jimmie (Ivonne) Gonzalez; five grandchildren: Aviana, Mateo Franco, Victorya, Aidan and Dominic Gonzalez; ten siblings: Eusevia, Antonio, Tomas, Margarita, Maria Angelica, Ernesto, Julia, Maria, Carmen and Rafael as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Francisco is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Petra Gonzalez; parents, Enrique and Maria Gonzalez-Diaz; five siblings, Robustiano, Silvia, Maria, Santos and Martina.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at  11:00 a.m. with Father Charles Mosley officiating at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond IN, 46323. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Francisco was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico where he spent most of his childhood.  He moved to Gary, IN in the 1960’s where he raised his family and worked at Inland Steel for 30 years, until 1997. Once he retired, he moved back to Puerto Rico and enjoyed 20 years there before being displaced by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. In his free time, Francisco enjoyed watching the Cub’s and playing Domino’s. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
