Lawrence E. Moran, age 79, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

He is survived by Three sons: Dan, James (Angela) and John Moran; One brother: Richard; numerous nieces and nephews, Four grandchildren: Indigo Moran, Aiden Moran, Ethan Moran, and Autumn Moran; and one great grandchild: Willow Thacker-Moran.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Lou Moran (Nee Marlow) parents Walter James and Ollie Imogene Moran; and Brother: John Moran. 

Larry was born in Kenosha, WI on  September 30, 1941. He has been a resident of Hammond since the early 1950s. He was a veteran of the US Navy(1959-63) and a past president(1975) of the Griffith chapter of the Izaak Walton League. At work he was known as "The Professor." In the 1980s, he dedicated a great deal of his time and energy to playing and coaching in the Hessville soccer club, where he made a positive and lasting impact that lives on in many today.  He enjoyed reading, cooking, the outdoors, gardening, football Sundays with the family, and as Brenda would always say: "bringing all kinds of goofy stuff home from the flea market." Larry was a loving husband, a dutiful father, a kind grandfather, and a true friend who will be dearly

missed by all who knew him.

Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial gathering to celebrate Larry’s life on Saturday, July 17 , 2021 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).
