Regina L. Frunk (nee Szafarczyk) 100 years old, formerly from Hammond and Highland, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and went home to be with our Lord on 8/3/2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward S. Frunk in December 2011. She was married to Edward for 69 years. Her parents were Alex and Anna Szafarczyk and she had three brothers, Alex Jr. (Martha), Raymond (Norma) and Alfred (MaryAnn).
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Joseph) Warzecha, her son David, (Betty) Frunk. Four grandchildren, Ann (Eric) Fetzer, Steven Warzecha and Julie (Steve) Hartley and Stephanie Frunk.
Four great-grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Fetzer, Grace and Aidan Hartley.
Regina was born and raised in Hammond. She was a 1941 graduate of Hammond Technical High School. She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Rosary Society and St Vincent DePaul Society.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023. There will be a one-hour time of visitation before the mass DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave., Hammond, IN. A viewing will start at 10:00 a.m. followed by the mass at 11:00 a.m. Private entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Our Lady of Czestochowa Mausoleum Calumet City, IL.
