Ronald Denver Broderick, age 64, of Hammond,  passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at his home.

He is survived by his parents: George and Charlotte (Nee Fentress) Broderick; two children: Ronald Denver (Jodilyn) Broderick Jr. and Emily (Dan) Ridenour; four grandchildren: Amelia Ridenour, Abigail Ridenour, Jackson and Addison Broderick; one brother: Robert (Susan) Broderick; two nieces: Jennifer and Savannah Broderick; one great niece, Peighton Hudnall and a host of friends. Preceded in death by his brother, George E. Broderick Jr. and grandparents, Denver and Marie Fentress.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond,(Hessville) IN 46323. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bocken Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 mandates facemask are required  and food is not allowed at the funeral home.

Ron Broderick was born in East Chicago and has been a lifetime resident of Hammond. He was a 1974 graduate of Hammond Tech High School. He also attended Nichols School of Engineering where he prepared for his profession. Ron worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Calumet Construction until his health required him to retire. He was proud to have served as the first president of the Hessville soccer league. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and numerous hobbies but his favorite pass time was being with his grandchildren. Ron was a loving and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
