Veronica Marie Sanchez, age 34, of Hammond tragically passed into eternal life on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

She is survived by her parents: Maria Isabel Martinez and Manuel Sanchez; companion: Jose D. Cruz Sr.; two children: Jose D. Cruz Jr. and Aiyana C. Cruz; siblings: Christina (David Coulter) Gregory, Alejandro J. Sanchez, Josefina C. Sanchez; two nieces: Ava and Julianna Reyes; one nephew, Kolton Falkenburg; maternal grandparents: Mary Martinez and Jose J. (Alma) Martinez; paternal grandparents: Benjamin Sanchez and Refugio Espinoza; as well as numerous cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.  

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue Hammond, IN 46323 (Hessville).  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. from Bocken Funeral Home followed  by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 7132 Arizona Ave. Hammond, IN celebrated by Father Charles Mosley. Private cremation will follow.

Veronica was a lifetime resident of the region, and a graduate of Morton High School. Veronica was a loving mother not only to her 2 beautiful children but to her 3 fur babies. Kobe, Bella and Luz. She loved going and watching her kids play sports. Veronica was a media specialist at Scott Middle School and was president of the PTSA. Along with her being with her children Veronica loved to help others, read, watch crime shows and going out with her friends. She enjoyed meeting new people and had a bubbly personality. “And though she be but little, she is fierce.” Shakespeare, she will be truly missed.
