Donna Ruth Colon, age 53, of Greenwood, IN formerly of Gary passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 2, 2016.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jose Colon;

two children: Jose Colon, II and Donna Marie Colon; two grandchildren: Draven Colon and Matthew Gonzalez; two brothers: Frank (Sandra) Bewley and James Bewley; one sister, Nancy Lynn Johnson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ossie and Mary Bewley; one brother, Wilbert Wayne Bewley.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Larry Brooks officiating.            Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.

Donna was born and raised in Gary and was a 1974 graduate of Calumet High School.  In 2003 she moved to Greenwood, IN and had been attending Emmanuel Church in Greenwood. She was a very caring person and worked as a volunteer for many different organizations. Donna enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were very precious to her and she loved them dearly. Donna will be remembered as a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
