Mary Helen Sheahan, age 81, of Hammond passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years,  William F. Sheahan; son, Billy Sheahan and daughter, Mary (Dino) Sheahan-Latronica; grandsons: Anthony and Joseph Latronica; sisters: Ann Jane Axium, Irene Foote, Rosemary Foote, Laura Meyer, Sarah Therese Sparks; sister-in-law, Maribeth Lamparski; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Latronica; parents, Peter and Helen Foote; brothers: Peter and Edmund Foote; sister, Angela Foote.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona, Hammond (Hessville)with Father Charles Mosely celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Worth, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the mass at 10:00 a.m.

Mary was born and raised in Chicago, Il. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Xavier Academy and earned a BS in Nursing from St. Xavier University in 1960. In 1963 she married her sweetheart, Bill. Mary was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.
