Myrtle Edith Larson, age 95, of Hammond, entered into the gates of Heaven on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth L. (Cathie Soloman) Larson; son in law, James Spencer;
Grandchildren: Kelly (Dennis) Hernandez, Kim Larson, Breck and Savanna Spencer; three step-grandchildren: Jim (Jennifer) Spencer, Michael (Jodi) Spencer, Cathy (Shane) Patterson; five great grandchildren: Marchand Hernandez, Abbey Hernandez, Jeffery and Bria Larson and Kenley Brunaczki; seven step-great grandchildren;one great great grandson; Several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth L. Larson,two daughters: Marliss “Polly” Spencer and Christine Anderson parents: Louis and Clara Kelly; five sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Major James Spencer and Major Jose Tomayo officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born and raised in Elgin, Il and moved to the Calumet Area in 1985. Myrtle was a faithful and active member of the Salvation Army; where she taught Sunday School, taught in Jr. Church, was Chaplin and Acting Chaplin of the Home League. Myrtle was a very loving and caring mother, grandma, great grandma and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
